Bay Area Generations is a thriving literary reading series and literary arts community. We welcome volunteers and patrons to sustain our organization and its events and activities.
Our volunteers are the life blood of this Bay Area literary reading series! They extend our ability to present fine poetry and fiction reading here in the San Francisco Bay area lit scene.

So what are the benefits of volunteer for bay Ara Generations?
- Free admission. That’s right– you get free admission to the show or event where you volunteer!
- No time commitments. Volunteering can be one-time or ongoing.
- A growing community. Meet the up-and-coming and some established writers, authors, and poets. Become a contributing member to this thriving bay area literary arts community.
All Set? Here’s where you can volunteer:
Guest Curator – Curate a reading along with our board members. If you have read at one of our readings, you are eligible to co-curate a show. Guest curators spend at 3-6 hours in person with two Generations board members to: read literary submissions aloud, selecting the show’s pieces, arranging the literary reading show line-up. being a Guest Curator is a fun, rewarding process that helps insure a diversity of perspectives and voices in our reading series! Outreach Coordinator – will help identify literary talent of poets, authors, writers, musicians and invited them to make their submission; work to grow the Generations literary community; and assist in promoting events. If you’re interested in becoming an Outreach Coordinator, E-mail us.
Fundraising Coordinator – will help design and run a fundraising campaign; and help with other fundraising activities. To learn more or if you’re interested in becoming a Fundraising Coordinator, E-mail us.
Volunteer Coordinator – will help solicit and manage volunteers at monthly literary readings and Bay area literary events. To learn more or if you’re interested in becoming a Volunteer Coordinator, E-mail us.
Event Volunteers – help organize and manage activities at our monthly literary readings and events. Includes free admission to the show; help staff the merchandise table, event set-up, refreshments, and other logistics the night of the show. We welcome one-time and repeat event volunteers. Musicians & Musical Groups – We feature a musical performance at each of our monthly readings. Musicians can be selected to play one or two sets, depending on the show line-up (usually a total of 15-20 minutes). If you are interested, please E-mail us or contact us.
